394 Gentamicin Guidelines – Available but Are They Followed? a Retrospective Audit

Abstract Introduction Many hospitals include gentamicin as part of prescribing protocols for clinical situations such bacterial septicemia and urinary tract infections. High doses can lead to nephrotoxicity and/or auditory dysfunction. To prevent this, most hospital guidelines advise adjust dosing according age, renal function if the patient is overweight. With therefore quite a complex protocol, an audit practices at trust was deemed necessary determine protocol being followed inpatient dosing. Method A retrospective all patients prescribed between 1st August 31st October 2020 performed. Data collected from two separate electronic record systems combined.
